Strokes drummer's side project readies debut album

Little Joy's album is due out this autumn

The Strokes' drummer Fab Moretti has revealed details of the debut album from his side project, Little Joy.

The album was produced by Noah Georgeson, a regular collaborator with Devendra Banhart, and features 11 tracks including 'Shoulder To Shoulder' and 'Keep Me In Mind'.

The self-titled album is due out in the US on November 4.

The band also includes Moretti's girlfriend, Binki Shapiro, and Brazilian singer-guitarist Rodrigo Amarante, formerly of Los Hermanos.

The trio came together after being introduced by mutual friends, and ended up moving into a house together in the Echo Park neighbourhood of Los Angeles.

They named their band after their famous neighbourhood dive bar Little Joy.

The album's tracklisting is:

'The Next Time Around'
'Brand New Start'
'Play The Part'
'No One's Better Sake'
'Unattainable'
'Shoulder To Shoulder'
'With Strangers'
'Keep Me In Mind'
'How To Hang A Warhol'
'Don't Watch Me Dancing'
'Evaporar'

Little Joy are set to tour the West Coast with Devendra Banhart's side project Megapuss and Laurel Canyon band Entrance, as previously reported.

The tour dates are:

San Diego, CA Casbah (September 24)
Los Angeles, CA Troubadour (25)
Big Sur, CA Festival In The Forest (26)

Heavens above, what is going on with The Strokes? I just had a listen to this Little Joy stuff on their Myspace. Why is he fucking about with this pissy wank? When are we gonna hear something brilliant from The Strokes again?

Albert Hammond Jr, then Julian doing the thing for converse, then Nikolai in his band and now Fab Moretti in his band. Next it is Nick having his own band. Sounds a bit like the Wu-Tang Clan, look what happened to them an album which isn't all that great. Lets all hope, the next Strokes' album, will be a sucess.PS. Not trying to bag out Wu-Tang or The Stokes cause I repect them both.
