The Strokes bassist announces debut solo show

Nickel Eye will play London on October 15

The Strokes' bassist Nikolai Fraiture has announced details of his first-ever solo show, taking place in the UK next week.

Nickel Eye will perform at the Borderline in London on October 15, and Fraiture has enlisted the help of South as his backing band.

Fraiture is the fourth Stroke to pursue a solo career, following Albert Hammond, Jr., Fabrizio Moretti's band Little Joy, and Julian Casablancas' solo work with Pharrell and Santogold.

Meanwhile, Nickel Eye has just signed a deal with Rykodisc, to release his debut album 'The Time Of The Assassins', scheduled to be released in late January.

The Borderline show will be the first of three this month, as Nickel Eye will then return to New York for two shows during the CMJ Music Marathon. The shows will take place on October 22 at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg and October 24 at Pianos.

The Brian Jacket Letdown will open for Nickel Eye in London.

I think they need to do it so that when they do come back to make something they will all be really up for working with each other again and making good music. First Impressions of Earth was not a good album - the next one has to be great or they will disappear.
