Strokes' bassist plays debut solo hometown show

Nickel Eye perform first of two CMJ shows in Brooklyn

Nickel Eye, the solo project of The Strokes bassist Nikolai Fraiture, played their first-ever hometown show last night (October 22) as part of CMJ.

Fraiture, was once again backed by members of British group South who flew in from London for the show, and performed for a half hour at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg in Brooklyn.

Despite having to cut two songs from the set due to time constraints, Fraiture afterwards admitted to NME.COM that he was pleased with the set, which featured a string of material from the band’s upcoming album 'The Time Of The Assassins'.

The band are scheduled to perform a second show tomorrow night (October 25)at Pianos, when they will take to the stage at 1am.

Nickel Eye played:

‘Intro (every time)
‘You And Everyone Else’
‘Back From Exile’
‘Fountain Ave’
‘This Is The End‘
‘Brandy of the Dammed’
‘Providence, RI’
‘Where The Cold Wind Blows’
‘Dying Star’

'The Time Of Assassins' is released January 27, and features guest spots from Regina Spektor and Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Nick Zinner.

The Strokes? I remember when they were cool.I'd rather hear a recording made by a dirty diaper than listen to this guy.

Well, Beatle_Matt, I remember when people used to listen to bands not just because they were cool. Interesting concept isn't it? Listening to a band cause they sound good. Wow. My god it almost sounds like absolute ludicrous. Shame on me. Anyways my point is, Beatle_Matt, shutup.
