Fabrizio Moretti sings happy birthday to bandmate at Little Joy gig

Crowd join in singing to Nikolai Fraiture in New Jersey

Fabrizio Moretti performed an extra song during Little Joy’s show in Hoboken, NJ on Friday night – leading his new band and the packed crowd in singing 'Happy Birthday' to his Strokes’ bandmate Nikolai Fraiture.

Fraiture, who recently unveiled his side project Nickel Eye, was in the crowd for Little Joy’s second sold out show in as many nights at the intimate Maxwell’s venue in New Jersey, where Kaiser ChiefsRicky Wilson and Mark Ronson were also in the crowd.

“Hello New Jersey, I mean, hello New York”, Moretti joked during the show, referring to the many friends who crossed the Hudson river to see the band perform.

As with the night before at Mercury Lounge, the band opened acoustically with ‘Evaporar’, and included a cover of Helen Shapiro’s ‘Walking Back To Happiness’ in the set.

The band return to New York tonight for a free show at Virgin Megastore in Union Square.
