The Strokes' Nikolai Fraiture is set to run this year's New York Marathon.
The bassist will be tackling the course on November 1 in aid of the New York Road Runners Foundation's Team For Kids charity.
Fraiture explained on his MySpace blog his motivation for tackling the marathon.
"I will be helping raise the funds needed to support youth fitness, goal-setting and nutrition programs throughout America and Africa while fulfilling, as a New Yorker, a life-long dream of running the marathon," he declared.
You can sponsor The Strokes' man at Nyrrc.org before October 16. Be sure to include the bassist's name FRAITURE and his entry number 445053.
NME will have more on Fraiture's marathon preparations soon, so stay tuned.
