The Strokes' 'Angles' charts at Number Three behind Adele

Plus Adele matches Madonna's 1990 chart record

The Strokes' new album 'Angles' has charted at Number Three in the UK albums chart today (March 27).

The album went in behind Adele's '21', which is Number One for the ninth week in a row. Her first album, '19', is at Number Two.

Adele is now the first female singer to stay at the albums top spot for so long since Madonna's 1990 run with 'The Immaculate Collection'.

Her single 'Someone Like You' has gone back to the peak of the singles chart, leapfrogging Nicole Scherzinger's 'Don't Hold Your Breath'.

Scherzinger's album 'Killer Love' went in at Number Eight.

3. The Strokes – 'Angles'
4. Jessie J - 'Who You Are'
5. Ronan Keating – 'When Ronan Met Burt'
6. The Overtones – 'Good Ol' Fashioned Love'
7. Rihanna - 'Loud'
8. Nicole Scherzinger – 'Killer Love'
9. Elbow - 'Build A Rocket Boys!'
10. Chris Brown – 'F.A.M.E.'

3. The Black Eyed Peas – 'Just Can’t Get Enough'
