The Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti has separated from his actress and comedian girlfriend, Kristen Wiig.

The pair had been dating since 2011 and their relationship was made public after they were spotted at a show by The Black Keys in New York. News of the break-up was revealed by US Weekly. Of the split, a source commented: "It was very amicable and they will remain friends." Wiig co-wrote and starred in the 2011 hit movie Bridesmaids and was a former member of the cast of Saturday Night Live.

The Strokes released their latest album 'Comedown Machine' in March of this year. The band's bassist Nikolai Fraiture revealed that they have no plans to tour the LP. Speaking to Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe, Fraiture said the album was recorded at Electric Lady in New York. "We hashed it out all together like the good old days. It's a legendary studio and it is not far away from us all, apart from Nick who lives in Los Angeles, but he made the trip out to record," he commented.

When asked about the possibility of live shows Fraiture sounded cagey and would reply: "I don't know. I would love to tour," but admitted there were no dates scheduled.
