The Strokes' bassist Nikolai Fraiture has teamed up with Au Revoir Simone to cover Mazzy Star's 'Fade Into You'. See below to listen.

The song was recorded in New York in February at the Downtown Studios and was produced by Fraiture. Everyone involved says that the collaboration is a one-off and that they are unlikely to record anything more substantial together.

"I saw Au Revoir Simone perform the song on kexp and had some ideas for how it could be recorded," Fraiture told Rolling Stone. "I love the band and met Erika Spring through some friends in New York. I sent them a rough version of the track. They agreed to come into the studio to do vocals and sent in their keyboard parts while on tour. They each did just a few vocal takes but sounded great."

Meanwhile, Fraiture recently took part in The Strokes' their comeback gig last Saturday night (June 7) at Governors Ball festival in New York.

The band's only other booked show of the summer is at FYF Fest in Los Angeles in August.
