Newcomers The Temper Trap make new friends on Glastonbury's John Peel stage

Band clearly enjoy themselves as they showcase their debut album at festival

Hotly-tipped Melbourne band The Temper Trap showcased tracks from their forthcoming debut album 'Conditions' to a buzzing John Peel Stage today (June 27).

Upcoming single 'Sweet Disposition' went down particularly well with the crowded tent, and saw frontman Dougy Mandagi abandon his guitar and sing with his hands clasped behind his back.

At the song's climactic chorus, several fans towards the front of the stage threw their hands in the air and danced along with the band.

Mandagi's unique falsetto voice also proved a big hit with the crowd, and the tent filled up as the band's set went on.

Stand-out tracks included the percussion-heavy 'Resurrection' and opener 'Rest'.

'Drum Song', meanwhile, saw the band showcase an extended instrumental jam featuring wah-wah guitar, tambourine and multi-band drumming, while they even swapped electric guitars for acoustics on 'Down River'.

"This is our first time here, so thanks for having us!" Mandagi said to the audience part-way through the set.
