Ting Tings play their biggest LA gig

The Ting Tings performed their biggest Los Angeles gig to date at a sold-out show at the Troubadour on Friday (June 13).

The Manchester duo won over the packed house from the very beginning of their 45-minute set, starting out with the high-energy number 'We Walk' and segueing into 'Great DJ'.

The duo seemed right at home on the legendary stage and danced around on top of vinyl copies of their own album which were scattered across the floor.

The crowd danced and clapped along to nearly every tune, and often shouted praise to the band. "It's totally different than in the UK - it's like a one-on-one conversation," commented singer Katie White.

White led the charge throughout the night, climbing on speakers and beating on a cowbell while drummer Jules De Martino coolly kept the beat.

The crowd responded best to 'Shut Up And Let Me Go', which is currently being featured on an iPod commercial, as well as set closer 'That's Not My Name', which hit Number One on the UK charts.

"Both LA and New York have been really welcoming," De Martino told NME.COM. "Our manager told us our album's being played by US radio stations that normally only play rock. I feel that with our music you can really let go and not be pigeonholed."
