The Ting Tings' 'Shut Up And Let Me Go' has been nominated for video of the year at this year's MTV Music Video Awards in the US.

The duo, who have also been nominated in the best UK video category, will be up against Britney Spears ('Piece Of Me'), the Pussycat Dolls ('When I Grow Up') and the Jonas Brothers ('Burnin' Up').

Nominees for the award were chosen after MTV.com users voted for their favourite videos from the past year.

The nominations for the best rock video have also been announced. Foo Fighters, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, Slipknot and Linkin Park set to compete for the title.

The ceremony, hosted by Russell Brand, takes place at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles on 7 September.
