The Ting Tings: 'We'd rather puke on our own feet than be on the radio with David Guetta' The Ting Tings Tickets

The Ting Tings have spoken about the troubled recording of their new album 'Sounds From Nowheresville' and revealed that they've gone out of their way to avoid "cheap, nasty hits".
The band release their second album on February 27, but told the Guardian that they do not expect the album to be as successful as their debut 'We Started Nothing' and that they'd rather sell fewer records than have their music fit alongside the likes of David Guetta on daytime radio playlists.
Asked about whether any of the songs on their new album would become big hit singles, the band said they would rather "puke on their own feet" than sit alongside the likes of Guetta on radio playlists and that they aren't after "cheap nasty hits".
Speaking about their new album, the band said: "We would rather write songs that nobody's going to hear than write dance tracks that would fit on the radio after David Guetta", with singer Katie White adding: "I'd rather puke on my own feet than that".
Jules De Martino added: "It would have been so easy to quickly bash out any old shit off the back of the first album. Get it on the radio, have a cheap nasty hit. And we didn't want to do that."
Multi-instrumentalist De Martino also said that the duo can only seem to write music when they're unhappy and that they also believe people don't want to hear songs about them "sitting on the beach".
Speaking about how the band write songs, he said:
We can only ever write anything when we're down. Who wants to hear an album from an artist that's happy? Because the content line tends to be: I'm sitting on a beach, how's life for you? And right now a lot of people's answer is likely to be: well not very good actually, we won't buy your record.
