The Twang, The View, Young Knives rock Butlins
Skegness hosts winter festival Big Reunion
Around 4,000 punters trekked down to the sell-out three-day weekender that saw DJs and bands performing until the early hours.
On Saturday (November 23) Mr Hudson And The Library opened the evening’s events followed by !Forward Russia!, who played a host of tracks from their forthcoming second album.
At midnight The View’s Kyle Falconer took to the stage with his band sporting a fat top lip - which he revealed he got after a recent fight with a friend - but that didn’t stop the foursome getting an already heaving throng dancing and singing along.
Ploughing through tracks from their debut Number One album, including 'Wasted Little DJs' and 'Same Jeans', the Dundonian four-piece were on fine, drunken, form and pulled the largest crowd of the evening.
Next on the bill were Birmingham swagger rockers The Twang, who kept the heaving room full with their chart-bashing lad anthems.
Radio anthem 'Wide Awake' erupted with a huge drunken singalong from the already swaying crowd.
The Young Knives' lead singer Henry had recovered from the cold he was suffering from at London's Union Chapel earlier in the week and, along with brother House Of Lords, kicking off with some trademark banter as the band came on just before 2.30am.
The three-piece played a 30-minute sweat infused set rammed with new tracks from their forthcoming album, including 'Terra Firma' and 'Up All Night', alongside old favourites 'Weekends And Bleak Days' and 'She's Attracted To'.
The Rumble Strips and then Blood Red Shoes finished the night, the last band having the 'graveyard' slot of 4.30am.
The Big Reunion continues this weekend (November 30 – December 1) at Butlins with acts including We Are Scientists, CSS, The Dykeenies and Pull Tiger Tail.
