The Used singer Bert McCracken has broken his elbow and hand after falling offstage in California.

The band were performing at the Musink Tattoo & Music Festival on Saturday (March 12) when McCracken fell during the band's performance of 'The Taste Of Ink'.

McCracken was taken to hospital after the show and told fans via the band's Twitter page, Twitter.com/wearetheused, that he had broken his left hand and right elbow.

"A show I will never forget," he added.

McCracken later tweeted to tell fans that surgery on his elbow "had gone well". The band have not said whether his injury will affect their touring commitments yet.

The Used are due to release their fifth album towards the end of the year.
