The Vaccines played the biggest gig of their career so far last night (November 17), selling out London's 10,000 capacity Alexandra Palace.

Ahead of their forthcoming O2 show on May 2, which will see the band play to twice the amount of people, the quartet stormed through an 80-minute set including the bulk of their 2011 debut and this year's number one album 'The Vaccines Come of Age'.

Opening with recent single 'No Hope', the band were on visceral form, barely stopping to talk but inciting mosh pits and huge crowd sing-a-longs from the off. You can watch fan-filmed footage of the band playing 'Wreckin' Bar (Ra Ra Ra)' below.

'Wetsuit', 'Post Break Up Sex' and 'Blow It Up' garnered some of the biggest crowd reactions, whilst singer Justin Young introduced previous single 'If You Wanna' with a cheeky "You'll know this one..." to huge cheers.

Mandy, 19 from Tottenham, described the gig as "the best time she'd ever seen the band," elaborating that "Wetsuit' was epic and the new stuff, especially 'Ghost Town' and 'Teenage Icon', got everyone going just as much as their old hits". Meanwhile, Darren, 25 from Chelmsford, summed up the evening as "a blinder".

After the gig the band were in high spirits, with Young enthusing that it was "the most enjoyable gig they'd ever played".

The band were supported by a diverse bill that included riotous punk outfit Fucked Up, whose singer Pink Eyes spent most of the set in the crowd, Diiv – who are set to play a 'secret' headline show at the Old Blue Last tonight - and female duo Deap Vally.

The Vaccines will now continue their headline tour, stopping off for nine more dates before finishing up in Bournemouth on November 30.
