The Vaccines will play an intimate show at London's Windmill pub on October 6.

The Sunday night gig will take place at the venue in which the band staged their first ever show in August 2010, which was attended by just 10 people, including Chilli Jesson, who later formed Palma Violets. Tickets cost £10 and go on sale at 1pm on October 3 via windmillbrixton.co.uk

This summer, The Vaccines said they will complete their third album in the next "eight or nine months" and it will not consist of "three-chord pop-punk". Speaking to Australian radio station Triple J, frontman Justin Young discussed plans for the band's third album, commenting: "I don't think we're going to come out with a third record of three-chord pop-punk."

Speaking about the band's recent 'Melody Calling' EP, Young explained that the release was to "bridge the gap" between 2012's 'Come Of Age' and their third album. He said: "I think we just sort of felt like we didn't want to be churning out the same stuff album after album… We tried to take a turn on the second record, but it was perhaps slightly premature. I like surprises - not everyone does - but we felt like the EP was a good way to bridge the gap."

The 'Melody Calling' EP was recorded during the band's US sessions in March at Eldorado Studios in Burbank, Los Angeles, with producers John Hill (Rihanna, MIA, Santigold) and Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys). The release featured two versions of 'Do You Want A Man' as well as 'Everybody's Gonna Let You Down'.
