The Verve have denied rumours that they are on the verge of cancelling their V Festival appearances this weekend (August 16-17).
Holy Moly reported that guitarist Nick McCabe had allegedly been sectioned following The Verve's appearance at the Summer Sonic festival in Japan at the weekend.
The guitarist was said to have been hospitalised after the gig and flew home separately from his bandmates.
However a spokesperson for the band denied that The Verve would drop out of this weekend's festival, stating that McCabe had instead cut his finger.
"Contrary to rumours circulating Nick McCabe cut his finger on piece of glass in the dressing room after the gig in Japan," they told NME.COM. "He was treated by medics at the scene and then flew home. He's fine except for sore finger and that won't effect their appearance at V at the weekend."
