The View have recorded the official 'anthem' for this year's Record Store Day.

The worldwide annual celebration of independent record stores takes place on April 16 this year. The Scottish band's version of The Tweeds' 1980 song 'I Need That Record' will be released as a limited-edition, one-sided seven-inch single to mark it.

It will be available only from participating record shops and streamed online at Recordstoreday.co.uk.

Meanwhile, The View are also playing live and appearing at a number of record stores to mark Record Store Day.

The band will be playing live or appearing at:

Aberdeen One Up (April 5) (signing session only)
Glasgow Love Music (6)
Leeds Jumbo (10)
Leicester Rock-a-Boom (16)

Other acts taking part in Record Store Day include Foo Fighters, who are releasing a covers album on April 16.
