The Walkmen's frontman Hamilton Leithauser has teamed up with members of Vampire Weekend, Fleet Foxes and The Shins for his forthcoming solo record.

The singer has been working on the album at LA's Vox Studios where he has joined forces with Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij, The Shins' keyboardist Richard Swift, fellow Walkmen band member Paul Maroon and Fleet Foxes/Cave Singers' Morgen Henderson.

Swift has posted an Instagram montage of studio footage and a couple more of his in-the-studio Vine clips, which you can view here and here. There is no material posted from the album at this stage. The LP, which is currently untitled, is due to be released in the spring of 2014.

The Walkmen released their seventh studio album 'Heaven' last year. Meanwhile, Vampire Weekend are set to embark on a UK arena tour in November. The band, who released their third studio album 'Modern Vampires Of The City' earlier this year, will play five dates in total on the tour.

Vampire Weekend will play:

Birmingham NIA (November 12)
London The O2 (13)
Glasgow The Hydro (15)
Leeds First Direct Arena (16)
Manchester Arena (17)
