The Weeknd to release new album this year
Abel Tesfaye will follow last year's 'Trilogy' with a brand new collection of songs
The singer - real name Abel Tesfaye - took to his Twitter account to post a picture of his computer desktop, which featured a folder named '2013 untitled album'.
A folder called '2013 art work' was also pictured.
The as-yet-unnamed album will follow last year's debut 'Trilogy', which featured remixed and remastered versions of the Canadian R&B artist's three mixtapes, 'House Of Balloons', 'Thursday' and 'Echoes Of Silence' as well as three new tracks.
The Weeknd will head out on his first UK tour in March.
He will play four live shows in Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and London.
The jaunt will start at The Ritz in Manchester on March 20, followed by shows at Glasgow O2 ABC and Birmingham HMV Institute, finishing up at London Electric Ballroom on Sunday, March 24.
The Weeknd spoke to NME following a secret London show in November of last year.
Tesfaye said that up until the live shows he only existed in people's bedrooms and iPods. "I make good music for long journeys," he joked. About doing live shows he added: "There was so much pressure coming in. But I've played it well because being off the circuit has allowed me to practise with this band back home in Toronto for months."
