Jack White reveals White Stripes' future
The Raconteurs
So what's the outlook for The Raconteurs?
Jack White has revealed his loyalties are now “divided totally 50/50” between The White Stripes and his new band The Raconteurs.
The guitarist has been touring with The Raconteurs, the band he formed with pal Brendan Benson, for most of the year. But in between promoting their debut album ‘Broken Boy Soldiers’ he has been working on a new record with bandmate Meg White.
He told NME's sister title Uncut: “I have to honestly say that I’m divided totally 50/50 between The Raconteurs and The White Stripes. My brain now has two options for songs that I write, and it’s a really nice luxury to have as a songwriter.
“I have so many songs now for another record: Meg and I are working on songs during breaks from touring with The Raconteurs.”
Also in this month’s issue, Uncut goes on tour with their man of the year Bob Dylan, and there are exclusive interviews with Neil Young and Arctic Monkeys.
The magazine also reveals its’ albums and reissues of the year, and there’s a free CD featuring the best acts of 2006.
Uncut is on sale now at all good newsagents, priced £4.20. For more information go to Uncut.co.uk now.
