Jack and Meg sign new record deal

The White Stripes appear to be gearing up for the reelase of a new album.

The band have announced that they have signed a deal with Warner Brothers in the US, following the demise of the North American V2 label, which released the duo's records in the States.

The new contract is for a one-album deal and, unlike their V2 contract, does not involve Jack White’s label Third Man which released albums by Whirlwind Heat and The Raconteurs in the US, and puts out the band's records in the UK via indie label XL.

A release date is yet to be confirmed for the follow-up to 2005's 'Get Behind Me Satan'.
