White Stripes singer says goodby to Detroit home
It was sold to a retired couple from Maryland, reports the Associated Press.
As previously reported the singer’s home-cum-studio went up for sale in August of last year.
The White Stripes recorded their album ’Get Behind Me Satan’ there in two weeks.
The house was designed by C.Howard Crane best known as a cinema architect whose works include the lavish Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit.
White now lives in Nashville. He told the Associated Press in a 2006 interview that he had to leave Detroit because he: “couldn’t take the negativity anymore."
