Jack White mocked Kanye West by invading the stage at a Q&A session with the director of The White Stripes' new film 'Under Great White Northern Lights' on Friday (September 19).

Director Emmett Malloy was fielding questions from the audience at the Toronto International Film Festival when White suddenly ran onstage from the wings and grabbed the microphone from him.

Shortly after Malloy had spoken about using some footage of Orson Wells' 1941 film 'Citizen Kane' in his documentary, White took his microphone and bullishly stated: "I'm gonna let you finish, I'm gonna let you finish, but Orson Welles did one of the greatest films of all time!"

The move garnered cheers and whoops from the audience, while Malloy also appeared to see the funny side of the joke.

Last week, The Killers also parodied West's stage invasion during a gig at the Hollywood Bowl.

'Under Great White Northern Lights' documents The White Stripes' 2007 tour of Canada.
