Huge surge in sales for The White Stripes' albums following split

Sales of The White Stripes' albums have all increased substantially following yesterday's announcement that they have split up.

According to figures on, the band's 2010 live album and documentary 'Under Great White Northern Lights' received a sales increase of 2,644 percent on the site following the announcement.

It is currently second in the website's Movers & Shakers chart, which follows high-rising releases.

Two other albums by the band also feature in the Top 10, with 'White Blood Cells' at Number Five (612 per cent up) and 'Elephant' at Number Seven (402 per cent up).
