Final Who dates in jeopardy

The final dates of The Who's North American tour are in jeopardy, because singer Roger Daltrey is suffering from a viral infection.

The band cancelled Saturday (March 17)’s show in Mexico City and tonight’s (March 20) show in San Antonio.

As previously reported, the band had to abort their show in Tampa, Florida minutes after starting when Daltrey’s voice gave out during opener ’I Can’t Explain’.

Posting on his blog guitarist Pete Townshend explained the situation.

“Two days ago it was established that Roger had alarmingly low Sodium levels leading to problematic dehydration. He has contracted a viral infection," he wrote. "It was recommended he go into hospital and go on a drip for a few days to set him right.”

Townshend said that Daltrey saw a doctor who recommended that he rest.

The band have rescheduled their aborted Tampa show for Sunday (March 25).

The band are set to play:

Little Rock Alltel Arena (March 22)
Oklahoma City Ford Center (23)
Florida Ford Amphitheatre (25)

However, it is still up in the air whether Daltrey will be well enough to perform at the shows, reports The Rock Radio.

Additionally the band are due to play the Royal Albert Hall in London on March 31 for Daltrey's charity the Teenage Cancer Trust.
