The Who's Roger Daltrey for North American tour
He heads out on 'Use It Or Lose It' tour in October
The Who frontman Roger Daltrey has scheduled a solo tour of North America, kicking off on October 10 in Vancouver.
The outing is Daltrey’s first solo jaunt since 1985, and steers clear of the huge venues The Who usually frequent.
"I thought it'd be nice to play smaller, more intimate venues," Daltrey said in a statement. "I look forward to getting back to that. I want to give people a good night out. The economic situation being what it is these days, I think that's what they want: to go out and feel they've had a good jolly-up."
Daltrey will be joined onstage by longtime collaborator, guitarist/backup singer Simon Townshend, brother of The Who mainman Pete Townshend.
Also joining him will be guitarist/musical director Frank Simes, keyboardist Loren Gold, bassist Jon Button and drummer Scott Devours.
Daltrey plans to perform "his version" of Who songs, some covers, plus solo material, some of which he has never before performed live.
