The xx have been forced to move the location of their outdoor Summer gig in London after running into unplanned technical problems with the London Underground.

The Night + Day show show was originally due to take place in Osterley Park on June 23 but will now take place the day before on June 22 at Hatfield House. The venue change has come about following the planned closure of the Piccadilly line. Ticket holders unable to make it on the new date are able to get a full refund at the point of purchase.

Additionally, Solange has been announced among the second wave of support acts who will play the gig in London later this year. Polica, Mount Kimbie and Kindness were all previously confirmed for the show, with Sampha, Jamie xx and Benji B set to DJ between bands. Speaking about the announcement, The xx said: "It is a pleasure to be able to announce the first three acts confirmed for the London Night + Day. We love all of these bands for different reasons and we are so excited to have them involved."

Meanwhile, Oliver Sim of the band has revealed that they are already working on songs for their third album and hope to release it in 2014 or the year after. Discussing the "stronger" vocals his bandmate Romy Madeley-Croft has contributed to the new songs, Sim told Billboard: "One thing I can say, Romy's voice has grown a lot, just from singing every day. I hear it and it's beautiful to hear. Normally, I think I need the chance to be alone and to be quiet, and these are two things that don't really exist on tour but we've been doing it," Sim said, going on to add that the trio have "skeletons of songs" that they are working on "at sound checks, whenever we have time".

The xx's series of Night + Day gigs will take place in a series of unusual locations in May and June of this year, with venues including a waterfront park in Portugal, an abandoned Berlin theme park and London. The xx will headline each night, but the events will begin in the afternoon and feature a full bill of acts.

The xx will play:

Lisbon Jardim da Torres de Belëm (May 5)
Berlin Spreepark (May 18)
London, Hatfield House (June 22)
