Mercury Music Prize 2007 nominees: The Young Knives

The Young Knives November 2005

The Young Knives November 2005

We profile The Young Knives ahead of tonight's big announcement

Name: The Young Knives
Album: 'Voices Of Animals And Men'
Odds: 34/1

Who: Oxford’s (via Ashby-de-la-Zouch) The Young Knives are outsiders to bag the prize, but their intelligent-yet-poppy art-rock could be popular with the judges. Their quirky, provincial English style could also rub well with a panel previously criticised for giving an award to Antony & the Johnsons – as he resides in and was mainly raised in the USA. The band are unveiling a new look tonight, so the green tank tops could be a thing of the past…

NME.COM will be bringing you the result live from the London ceremony, so come back from 9pm tonight to see who has won.
