NME Shows – First bands announced

The 2006 ShockWaves NME Awards Shows are set to take over London for two weeks next year – and here are the first bands who’ve signed up.

NME will stage gigs across the capital in February in the run-up to the ShockWaves NME Awards. Each night will feature a stunning line-up, with each gig aiming to showcase the bands everyone will be taking about in 2006.

Opening on February 10 at KOKO will be Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, while other headliners include The Zutons at the same venue (February 14), The Magic Numbers at the Brixton Academy (February 16), Editors at London Astoria (22) and Nine Black Alps at Hammersmith Palais (24).

The confirmed shows so far are:
