The Zutons dedicate track to Amy Winehouse at Oxegen

The Zutons dedicated a track to Amy Winehouse during their Oxegen set, with frontman Dave McCabe voicing his support for the troubled singer.

Introducing 'Valerie', which Winehouse covered earlier in the day during her Main Stage set, McCabe backed the singer.

"I'd like to dedicate a song to a girl who is in a lot of bad shit at the moment," he said, "or seems to be in a lot of bad shit, but I love her. She's great and you all know who she is."

With that the audience shouted Winehouse's name, McCabe replied: "Yeah, that's right. This is for you Amy. We love ya."

'Valerie' provoked the loudest crowd response in a set packed with hits.

However, despite tracks such as 'Zuton Fever', 'Remember Me' and 'Pressure Point' going down well with the large turnout at the O2 Stage, the crowd were unusually quiet at times and only half-heartedly responded to McCabe’s calls for them to sing along.

At one point someone on stage was heard to say, "It's Saturday night," as McCabe then sang "Saturday night at the movies... Who cares what band we're seeing."

Following 'Valerie', however, the crowd began to find their voice and a run-through of recent single 'Always Right Behind You' was followed by a mass sing-a-long of 'You Will You Won't'.
