Dave Grohl says he was recently hospitalised because he drank too much coffee.
Them Crooked Vultures, his band with Josh Homme and John Paul Jones, recently posted a jokey video online explaining the overdose. Many fans believed it to be completely in jest – but Grohl has now confirmed that he really did have a hospital visit.
"We were in the studio making a record and I was drinking a lot of coffee," he told Absolute Radio last night (March 22) – when Them Crooked Vultures played a Teenage Cancer Trust gig at the London Royal Albert Hall.
He added: "I was doing Vultures stuff at night, Foo Fighters stuff during the day and I had a newborn at home so I was sleeping two-three hours a night on an air mattress in a guest bedroom. And yeah, I had too much coffee, I started to get chest pains so I went to the hospital and they told me to stop drinking the coffee."
