THIN LIZZY are set to play two live shows in their DUBLIN hometown later this month, in what is being touted as a warm up to a full world tour.

The band, now comprising founder member Scott Gorman sometime guitarist John Sykes keyboardist Darren Wharton, drummer Tommy Aldridge and bassist Marco Mendoza, will play Dublin's Olympia on November 21 and 22. They reformed in 1999 to tour venues on mainland Europe and released a live album culled from the shows, 'One Night Only', this past summer. Sykes will continue on lead vocals, attempting to fill the gapping hole left by inspirational frontman, the late Phil Lynott.

However, ardent fans of the band, frequently pitched by observers as the best rock outfit ever to emerge from Ireland, will grumble that the current incarnation are not the only legitimate claimants to the Thin Lizzy name. Since the band formally bowed out, following an appearance at the Monsters Of Rock Festival in Germany during September 1983, a separate faction, lead by former lead guitarist Eric Bell has emerged. They too play occasional shows in Dublin.
