Radio 1's Big Weekend set for Preston

Preston will host the first British festival of the year as the music industry’s biggest names roll into town for Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

Last week, Jo Whiley announced that Preston’s Moor Park will host a bigger and better Big Weekend on May 19-20.

For the first time, Radio 1 will have a third tent that will play home to Radio 1 and specialist DJs.

The main stage will house the weekend’s major artists while the In New Music We Trust Stage will be the radio station’s live stage.

Each stage will host around seven artists a day and music will start about 12pm and finish at 9pm.

There will only be 7,500 pairs of tickets available for each day and details about how to get hold of them will be released towards the end of April.

The big event will also bring a number of pre and post gigs to the Nortb West which will also be courtesy by Radio 1.

As yet, Radio 1 have not confirmed any artists that will appear at the May festival.
