Tinchy Stryder has pulled out of appearing on the next series of Celebrity Big Brother because he doesn't want to damage his credibility.

It was reported yesterday that the rapper was set to feature in the new series of the reality show on Channel 5, which is due to air in January 2012, but according to The Sun he has performed a U-turn and decided to quit in order to protect his reputation.

"I asked myself whether people I respect would go on a show and I decided that they wouldn't," said Strdyer. "I respect myself for making this decision because they offered me a lot of money. Then, when I decided to go back and say no to the show, the money doubled.

He then went on to add:

But music is my first thing and I love the people that support me and just know in my heart it wasn't the right thing to do.

Tinchy Stryder is set to release a special single for the 2012 Olympics alongside Dionne Bromfield. The duo will cover Speech Debelle's 'Spinnin'', reworking it as 'Spinnin' 2012', which will be the official song for the London held 2012 Olympic Games.

Earlier this year Stryder told The Sun that he hoped the track would get him tickets to the event, saying "I'd love to watch the men's 100m final."
