CAN WE START AGAIN?

TINDERSTICKS drummer AL MACAULEY has walked out on the group's current European tour, suffering from "exhaustion".

Tindersticks are currently on a European tour, which called at the London Royal Albert Hall earlier in the month, backed by local orchestras.

The group were forced to play a show in Berlin without a drummer, after Macauley decided to return to the UK.

A UK spokesperson played down speculation that Macauley has quit the group for good, claiming that he came back home suffering from "exhaustion". It is thought that he will now remain in the UK to recover.

Tindersticks are planning to complete their tour with session drummers, or with a re-arranged drummerless set.

The group's next release is likely to be a live album in 2002. A new studio record is also expected next year.
