TLC STAR SCRUBS QUIT CLAIMS

TLC rapper ROZONDA 'CHILLI' THOMAS has denied she is leaving the band, even though she previously claimed she will quit when her son starts nursery school.

Thomas told the July issue of glossy women's magazine 'Mademoiselle' she plans to leave the R&B supergroup when her two-year-old son Tron starts nursery school. She said: "When he gets to kindergarten I'm through...that's just the way it's going to be."

However, in a statement released to MTV news yesterday (June 20), Chilli retracted her comments, claiming she would "always" be with TLC. She said: "In order to clarify the quote in 'Mademoiselle', I would first like to say that I love TLC and I will always be with TLC...what I stated to the 'Mademoiselle' reporter is that when my son Tron reaches kindergarten, I will no longer continue with the 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week schedule. This in no way means I'm leaving TLC."

Rumours of a split have plagued TLC for a number of years. In November last year Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins and Chilli spoke to US magazine 'Entertainment Weekly', accusing fellow member Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes of being "only concerned with Left Eye".

Lopes then posted a letter to the same magazine, challenging the pair to each release a solo album as part of three CD set called 'The Challenge', to see who was the most talented.

While Chilli considers her future with TLC, Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes is working on her solo album, while Tionne T-Boz' Watkins is pregnant, and due to marry rapper Mack 10 in August.
