TLC recording new album with Drake and Ne-Yo
The remaining members of the legendary girl group recently announced their first gig in four years
The LP follows news that Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins and Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas will be playing their first gig in four years at The Mixtape Festival at Hersheypark Stadium, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, from July 26-27, alongside New Kids On The Block, Hanson and Boyz II Men.
Speaking to Rolling Stone about the new record – on which Drake and Ne-Yo guest - Watkins has said:
"Everybody has been so responsive about working with us. No one has said no yet."
The album will be their first since 2002's '3D'. Their fourth album, it was released six months after Lisa 'Left-Eye' Lopes died in a car accident in Honduras.
Thomas added that a full tour will follow their one-off Mixtape Festival date. "Trust me. It's going to happen!" she said.
Of the forthcoming show Watkins told Rolling Stone: "I'm nervous. Not because I don't think [our fans] will like it. But more so just 'cause it's been so long."
Thomas added that the performance, their first since a show in Japan in 2009 is "long overdue".
Footage of the late Lopes will be projected onto a screen behind the duo during the performance. Watkins said: "It'll be bittersweet because she's not there, but she's still there… you see all three of us rock out together."
TLC picked up the award for outstanding contribution to music at the 2012 MOBO awards.
