Kid Rock faces up to six months in jail after Tommy Lee punch-up
He gets a citation for misdemeanor battery after MTV Awards incident
Kid Rock could face up to six months in jail after his fight with Tommy Lee at last night’s MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas.
The pair were involved in a scuffle in the main room where the ceremony was taking place. Reports say Lee started the trouble earlier in the evening by antagonizing Rock, who was sitting nearby.
The pair were then involved in a punch-up, and were pulled away from each other by security. Lee was removed from the auditorium while Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie stayed.
Police arrived at the scene at the Palms Casino Resort and interviewed witnesses and Rock, who received a citation for misdemeanor battery. Rock was due to introduce a segment with Diddy, but was unable to fulfill that commitment due to the incident.
Both are ex-husbands of Baywatch star Pamela Anderson.
Police Officer Bill Cassell told the Associated Press that despite the possibility of a jail sentence, it is unlikely that anyone on similar charges would serve that time.
