The crooner scores both the biggest selling single and album this week...

TONY CHRISTIE DOES THE DOUBLE
TONY CHRISTIE is at the top of the UK singles chart for the second week tonight (March 27) and has also claimed the number one album position.

The singer shot to the top spot last week with ’(Is This The Way To) Amarillo’ after the track was revived by comedian Peter Kay and re-released for Comic Relief.

Christie’s greatest hits, ’Definitive Collection’ tonight also went to number one.

’Is This The Way To Amarillo’ beat off competition from the highest charting new single this week - Mario’s ’Let Me Love You’ debuting at two.

Other new entries inside the top ten included 50 Cent at four with ’Candy Shop’, ’Return To Sender’ at five by Elvis Presley, ’Switch’ by Will Smith at six and Natalie Imbruglia’s ’Shiver’ in at eight.

Elsewhere in the chart, The Faders, Erasure and British Sea Power all charted in the top twenty, Kasabian, The Subways and Damien Rice hit the top thirty and Finn Brothers, Bright Eyes, I Am Kloot and Roots Manuva debuted in the top forty.

Stereophonics’ Language Sex Violence Other’ fell to two in the album charts, with Basement Jaxx’s ’The Singles’ and Queens Of The Stone Age’s ’Lullabies To Paralyze’ charting at three and four respectively.

This week’s top ten singles are:

8. Natalie Imbruglia – ‘Shiver’
9. Sunset Strippers – ‘Falling Stars’
10. Nelly feat. Tim McGraw – ‘Over And Over’
