Christie still number one

It’s four weeks at the top of the UK single chart for Tony Christie.

The veteran's ..'Amarillo' today (April 10) sees off all-comers including Elvis - his ‘Crying In The Chapel’ can’t better number two.
Garbage mark their return with ‘Why Do You Love Me?’ at number seven while former Spice Girl Mel C sees her comeback single ‘Next Best Superstar’ chart at 10.

On down the chart there are new entries for
Natasha Bedingfield (12),
Feeder (13) while Kelis and new husband Nas chart at 17 with ‘In Public’. There is an indie hat-trick at numbers 28, 29 and 30 as The Bees,
The Others and
Departure all enter.

On the album chart, Natalie
Imbruglia celebrates her return going
straight in at one with ‘Counting Down The Days’. Mariah Carey enjoys a rather less successful comeback as her album ‘The Emancipation of Mimi’ limps in
at seven.
