Band pay tribute to Factory Records legend
Klaxons have paid tribute to Factory Records founder Tony Wilson, who died of a heart attack on Friday (August 10) aged 57, describing him as a “true innovator”.
Speaking to NME.COM from Japan, where Klaxons are on tour, band member James Righton recalled meeting Wilson at the Coachella festival earlier this year.
“He took time out to speak to us,” Righton recalled. “What really struck me was how passionately he talked about new music and the In The City music conference he organised, despite his illness.
“He was so determined to be there and introduce the Happy Mondays, which he did. He was an innovator and a true legend. He will be sorely missed.”
