No-one else was 'uptight' enough, say band

Travis: video star 'had to be Ben Stiller'
Travis recruited the talents of Ben Stiller for their new video because he is the most uptight man they know.

The band needed to fill the role of a stressed-out store manager for the promo for ‘Closer’, which is set in a supermarket.

As previously reported on NME.com, Stiller, a huge fan of the group, was more than happy to oblige.

“He is a lovely friend,” bassist Douglas Payne told ITV.com, “and when we got the treatment for the video there was this part for an uptight wound-up guy.

”We just thought, 'Who do we know that is uptight and wound-up?' So Fran emailed Ben and sure enough he had the day off and it was great, we all went off to LA and started shooting.”

The group's new album 'The Boy With No Name' is released on May 7.
