Tupac screenplay goes into production
The fallen rapper's mother is in charge of the script he wrote...
A screenplay written by the late Tupac Shakur is set to go into production, nine years after his murder.
The rapper’s mother, Afeni Shakur, is producing the film, Live 2 Tell, from a script Tupac wrote in 1995 and intended to star in himself, according to the BBC.
Live 2 Tell tells the story of an inner-city black youth who becomes a drug kingpin, before renouncing crime.
It will be Afeni’s second film project based around her son Tupac, having released the documentary Tupac: Resurrection using archive footage of the rapper, whose killing in 1996 remains unsolved.
Tupac himself starred in the movies Poetic Justice, Gridlock’d and Above The Rim during his lifetime. It has not yet been decided who will direct and star in the new film.
