TURIN BRAKES
have played a short acoustic show at a LONDON UNDERGROUND station, in a bid to promote legal busking on the tube.
The band performed unplugged versions of their UK Top Ten hit 'Painkiller' and forthcoming single 'Average Man', out June 2, live at Canary Wharf Station, on the Jubilee Line, this morning (May 19).
The band played as part of 16-week busking trial. Following a survey of tube users, busking is to be allowed at 25 official venues in 12 Underground stations, such as Charing Cross and Oxford Circus.
The survey showed eight out of ten tube users are behind busking on the London Underground.
Turin Brakes follow up the release of 'Average Man', the third single to be taken from their new LP 'Ether Song', with an appearance on the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Festival on Saturday June 28.
