’30 Rock’ star Tracy Morgan “fighting hard”

Actor "still struggling" following car crash in June

30 Rock star Tracy Morgan is “still struggling” on his road to recovery following a car accident in June said his lawyer.

Appearing on the Today Show on American television on Monday morning, lawyer Benedict Morelli gave an update on the former Saturday Night Live star’s progress following his release from hospital last month.

“He’s still struggling, but he’s a fighter. He’s had issues before that he’s fought through and he’s fighting hard,” revealed Morelli.

“The interesting thing is at the beginning, the internet was saying he was dead, and then they said they amputated his leg. Now it’s coming out that he’s doing great – none of those things are true or accurate.”

The actor was critically injured in a late night collision with a Walmart truck that saw him hospitalised with a broken nose, legs and ribs while fellow passenger and comedian James ‘Jimmy Mack’ McNair was killed.

Morgan’s legal team are suing Walmart for negligence claiming the retailer should have known that its driver had been awake for more than 24 hours, and that a 700-mile commute from his home in Georgia to work in Delaware was “unreasonable”.

Morgan provides one of the voices for forthcoming animated family comedy The Boxtrolls and will be seen alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in David O. Russell comedy Nailed.
