‘Atlanta’ star trolls fans over season 2 premiere date

Lakeith Stanfield teases show's return

Atlanta actor Lakeith Stanfield has been teasing the show’s return, trolling fans over the premiere date of the show’s eagerly anticipated second season.

The first season of Atlanta was critically acclaimed upon its debut in September 2016, with creator Donald Glover picking up two Emmy awards for his work on the show earlier this year.

Work on the show’s second season was delayed due to Glover’s Star Wars commitment, but now it is expected to return at some point in 2018.

Ahead of its second season, Stanfield – who plays Darius – posted a photo of the show’s cast to Instagram, along with a caption that initially suggested that Atlanta would return in February 2018.

However, Vulture reports that Stanfield later edited the caption, changing the expected due date to April 2018, then February 2020 and on and on.

At the time of publishing, Stanfield has removed all references to a premiere date from his caption.

Back in January, La La Land star Ryan Gosling admitted that he would like to make a cameo appearance in Atlanta.

Gosling told the Metro: ”I don’t know if there’s a place for me on the show Atlanta but I’m a big fan of that show. I think it’s pretty great. There’s a lot of good TV out there right now.”
