If you’re already missing Blue Planet this might be the festival for you

Bluedot Festival has The Chemical Brothers - and sharks - on the lineup

Bluedot Festival in Cheshire has announced its 2018 headliners.

The four day event, which takes place at the Jodrell Bank Observatory, will run between the 19th and 22nd of July this year.

The festival explores the intersection between science and culture with talks, comedy, astronomy and live shows.

Today it was confirmed that The Chemical Brothers, The Flaming Lips and Future Islands would top the bill.

Attendees also have the chance to watch a ‘Blue Planet live in concert’ show on the opening night, with music performed by Manchester-based symphony orchestra Halle and accompanying visuals from the 2001 TV series.

The 2017 re-make proved to be last year’s most watched British television show, with a winning formula of  narration by David Attenborough and captivating HD visuals.
