Showtime has recently released a plot synopsis for the new season of its popular drama, which reads: “Homeland season three opens during the aftermath of the horrific terror attack that decimated the US intelligence apparatus, and prompted a global manhunt for the world’s most wanted terrorist – Nick Brody (Damian Lewis).

“As Carrie (Claire Danes) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin) begin to pick up the pieces of their shattered professional and personal lives, they are swept up in the political and media firestorm surrounding the terror attack and the subsequent search for Brody’s whereabouts.”

Since debuting in 2011, Homeland has been a hit with TV critics as well as viewers. The show lost out on the ‘Outstanding Drama Series’ prize at the Emmy Awards this Sunday (September 22) to Breaking Bad but Danes took home the trophy for ‘Actress In A Drama Series’.
