That's 14 years in the same shoes
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia star Charlie Day has revealed he has worn the same pair of shoes for every episode of the long-running show.
The comedy series premiered in 2005 and has been on air for 12 seasons so far. The cast are currently filming the 13th and 14th series.
In an Instagram post, Day shared a photo of a pair of beaten up black vans. In the caption, he explained: “I bought these kicks in 2004 and I’ve worn them in pretty much every Sunny episode since.” See the post below.
The 13th and 14th seasons of It’s Always Sunny were confirmed before the 12th had been broadcast. “If anyone doubts the power of a camcorder and a dream, just look at It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which was a DIY backyard pilot when Rob [McElhenney], Charlie [Day] and Glenn [Howerton] brought it to FX and will go down in TV history as one of the most loved and enduring comedies,” said FX’s President of Programming Nick Grad.
“Few shows make it this far or have such devoted fans, and we owe it all to the creative vision and great humour of the creators and cast who keep Sunny fresh and inventive every season.”
There has been speculation over whether Howerton, who plays Dennis, will return to the show, following season 12’s end, which saw his character declare he was leaving Philadelphia. The actor has said he “might be” a part of the new episodes, but it’s “not entirely certain”.
